Meet your guide at 7:45 am at the Mountain Sports office at the base of the Mountain. From there, you will head over to Ramcharger 8, the world's most technologically-advanced, and only 8-seat, heated bubble chair in North America. For the next 75 mins, you will have Andesite Mountain, and meticulous corduroy (or untracked powder if you're lucky) all to yourself. Your guide will lead the way to the best terrain of the day.

At Big Sky, we strive to provide a quality learning experience in a safe and fun environment. Children are placed into groups according to their skill level, from first timers to all mountain riders. Our Mountain Sports School emphasizes technique over terrain. Half day lessons are available out of the Madison Base. Mountain Village offers full day lessons only. 

Please keep in mind that our instructors may decide to give the group a break, depending upon their needs. Adequate water breaks aid in adjusting to elevation changes.  When skiing or riding in Montana, layering works best. Be sure to have a waterproof jacket and pants and plenty of layers underneath. For children, please put names in clothing. Helmets, goggles and gloves are highly recommended all of our skiing and riding guests. 

Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to lesson registration or 1 hour prior if rental equipment is needed. Please allow for more time during peak season and for large groups.  You may bring your own equipment or rent from Big Sky Sports Rentals. Any guest taking a lesson may receive a 20% discount the day/s of their lesson/s on their rental equipment, please check in with Mountain Sports School first.

  • We highly recommend checking in the day before your lessons. 
  • Save up to 15% by booking online. Multi-day discounts only available online.  
  • Lift tickets are required during lessons. Children 6 and under always ski free.  Students 7 and older need to purchase a lift ticket in addition to the lesson. 
  • Multi-day group lessons do not need to be used on consecutive days, just select the correct start date

Adventure Zipline

Fly from tower to tower on the longest ziplines in the Yellowstone Region. This 4 line zip course was built for speed. Put it to the test by racing a friend on the Twin Zip of the last line! |

What to Expect

Ride up then zip down on Big Sky Resort's Adventure Zipline Tour which is designed for speed. Embark on the Explorer Double Chair and take in expansive views of Lone Mountain and the Spanish Peaks of the Madison Range. Once you're at the top of the chair, let the zipping begin. Swoop your way down the mountain on four adrenaline pumping lines spanning up to 1500 feet long and 150ft above the forest floor, including a Twin Zipline where you can race your fellow adventure zippers.


Important Information

  • This tour can last up to 2.5 hours from gear up to the finish line.  
  • Participants must weigh between 90 and 220 lbs.
  • Participants must be appropriately dressed for the weather and wear closed toed shoes.
  • There are a total of 8 spots available per tour, but availability may be limited, so book today!  
  • This activity is not appropriate for individuals with certain medical conditions which may include but are not limited to, recent musculoskeletal injuries, head, neck, or back injury, epilepsy, chronic heart condition, pregnancy, or hemophilia.   Participation is not appropriate for individuals taking blood thinning medications or who are under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.  It is recommended that medications for conditions such as asthma, diabetes or severe allergies be carried by the respective person and to alert the guide team of such conditions.

Cancellations 48 hours or more prior to a scheduled trip time will receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations within 48 hours may be refunded 50% of the deposit.
