At Big Sky, we strive to provide a quality learning experience in a safe and fun environment. A private lesson allows you to customize your experience with instruction from a pro. We recommend that students of similar age and ability level learn together. Instructor requests can be made online, but are not guaranteed. All private lesson students must be in the same age category and ability. Check your skier ability here

If renting from Big Sky Sports Rentals, we highly encourage guests to get rental equipment the afternoon before their lessons from 2:00 - 4:00pm.  If you must do it the morning of, Big Sky Sports Rentals opens at 8:00am, please allow for at least 1 hour during the peak season and for large groups.  Montage Guests needing rental should contact Compass Sports. 

• Lift tickets are required during sessions and are not included in the session price.

Group lessons provide a great opportunity to improve your skills and feel more confident on the snow. Ski or snowboard with your age group and similar ability level. |

Mountain Village / Full Day Lesson / This is an opportunity for experienced teens to explore new terrain in a product that is a blend of lesson and guide. Skiers and riders will be separated by discipline and grouped into green runs, blue runs, and black run groups.

This fusion lesson is a blend of Lesson and Guide. This lesson is available at Mountain Village only.  Full-day lesson, 9:30 am - 3:30 pm. Lunch Included

Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to lesson registration or 1 hour prior if rental equipment is needed. Please allow for more time during peak season and for large groups.  You may bring your own equipment or rent from Big Sky Sports Rentals.

Get your child off to the right start. This lesson is perfect for little ones who are new to skiing or snowboarding and do well with one-on-one instruction. This 45-minute lesson is ideal to introduce the student to the sport in a fun and engaging way. Various times based on discipline. |

When skiing or riding in Montana, layering works best. Be sure to have a waterproof jacket and pants and plenty of layers underneath. For children, please put names in clothing. Helmets, goggles, and gloves are highly recommended for all of our skiing and riding guests.

Please check with in with Mountain Sports to see if they have complimentary equipment available.
