Experience the thrill of improvement with the women of Big Sky at our exclusive women's bike clinic! This clinic is aimed at riders who have a grasp on the basics of downhill biking and looking for specialized instruction to take their riding to the next level. Over the weekend we will cover skills such as:

  • Body position & balance
  • Braking
  • Cornering & berms
  • Pumping and flowing
  • Speed and cadence of pedaling
  • Technical descending
  • Jumping
  • Drops
  • and Confidence!

This clinic is intended for riders of intermediate to advanced level. If you are looking for guidance as a first-time downhill biker, our Mountain Sports team is equipped to help.


EVENT SCHEDULE

Saturday, July 27

  • 9 - 10 a.m. — Coffee & Morning Meeting at Peaks
  • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. — Breakout groups on-mountain
  • 12 - 12:45 p.m. – Lunch on own
  • 12:45 - 4 p.m. — Skills practice on-mountain
  • 4 - 4:30 p.m. — Bike maintenance workshop at Peaks
  • 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. —Happy hour at the Umbrella Bar


Sunday, July 28

  • 9 - 10 a.m. — Morning coffee & group stretching session
  • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. —Breakout groups on-mountain
  • 12 - 12:45 p.m. – Lunch on own
  • 12:45 - 4:30 p.m. — Skills practice and fun laps with the group
  • 4:30 - 5 p.m. — Clinic wrap-up and goodbyes

Women's Bike Skills Series

Select Fridays from 2 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. / Coached by women, for women, this skills clinic is for beginners to advanced riders looking to gain confidence and skills in downhill mountain biking. Participants can get discounted lift tickets and bike rentals for the session. All women-identifying and non-binary riders are welcome in these skill-building sessions. |

Series clinics take place Friday afternoons: July 12th, July 19th, August 9th, August 16th, and August 23rd from 2 - 4:30 p.m. The cost this year will allow for a more intimate group learning environment. Register online to ensure a spot, drop in's may not be accommodated. Youth lessons are available at the same time.

$26 Womens' Clinic Bike Haul ticket, good from 2-5pm. $60 Bike Rentals also available to clinic participants. Please call Different Spokes at 406-995-5841 to reserve discounted bike rentals.

Groups will be broken down based on ability levels.  Beginner, Green/Blue terrain, Blue/black flow trails, Blue/black tech trails.

Youth 4-Day Bike Camp

BIKE CAMP INFORMATION

Mountain bike is not provided, we recommend a bike with full suspension. Bike Pass available for $99.

Week Long Sessions: Monday - Thursday. Groups will meet at 10 a.m. and finish at 5 p.m.

Youth Dates (ages 7 - 14)

  • July 1- July 4
  • July 8 - July 11
  • July 15 - July 18
  • July 22 - July 25
  • August 5 - August 8


Mini Rider Dates (ages 5 & 6)

  • July 8 - July 11
  • July 29 - August 1
  • August 12 - 15

 

There are no make-up sessions for missed days

Groups will be formed as best as possible taking into consideration age, ability and motivation. Coaching will take place on features and trails and be targeted to each individual group of riders.  We focus on technique and skills practice during the morning and more on free riding in the afternoon while trying to implement skills in our riding. We may incorporate hiking and plaza activities into the days for the mini riders.

Bike helmet, knee and shin guards, gloves and elbow pads required. Full face helmet is required on all lifts. 

  • Lunch is not provided, please pack a lunch or give your child money to buy lunch.
  • A full-access Bike Pass is available for purchase. Pass valid for the entire 2024 biking season.
  • Please add 4% tax
