Employee Lessons | Adult Only

Employees ONLY / Adult Group lessons provide a great opportunity to improve your skills and feel more confident on the snow. Ski or Ride with peers of a similar ability level. Lessons are Full Day! |

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

At Big Sky, we strive to provide a quality learning experience in a safe and fun environment. Adults are placed into groups according to their skill level, from first timers to all mountain riders. Check your ski or snowboard ability level.

You may bring your own equipment or rent from Big Sky Sports Rentals. 

  • Please arrive with all gear dressed and ready to learn. 
  • 9:30 -3:30 with an hour break for lunch

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you need to cancel please call the Mountain Sports office at 406-995-5743, 48 hours in advance of the lesson.  If you do not show up to your lesson there will be a $20 charge to your employee account.

Skiwees (Ages 3 - 4) | Emp 50

AM Lesson / Skiwees is the first step in our progressive Youth Multi-Week series. This program is ideal for first-time skiers looking for a strong start and future rippers who are already cruising around the mountain. Instructors who specialize in early childhood development work with our youngest skiers to ensure a strong start and a love for the slopes. Sessions are 6 weeks long|

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Our Youth Multi-Week Programming is designed for young skiers and are offered out of both the Mountain Village and Madison Base. These programs have a twenty-plus year history with a focus on fun, camaraderie, and safety while learning more about the mountain experience.

We plan to have groups created by middle of December and will be in touch with more details then.

First Session(Saturday/Sunday): January 6/7 - February 10/11

Second Session(Saturday): February 24 - March 30

Thursday and Friday sessions start January 4/5 and February 22/23

Please note that Multi-Week programs DO NOT come with lift access.  Please make sure that students have appropriate access for the days of their lessons. 

Please keep in mind that our instructors may decide to give the group a break, depending upon their needs. Our Mountain Sports School emphasizes technique over terrain and therefore will ensure fundamental skills are mastered on appropriate terrain before moving on to more difficult terrain.

When skiing or riding in Montana, layering works best. Be sure to have a waterproof jacket and pants and plenty of layers underneath. For children, please put names in clothing. Helmets, goggles, and gloves are highly recommended to all of our skiing and riding guests. Children may not always ride chairlifts with an instructor. 

  • Lift tickets are required during lessons. Discounted tickets are available for students 7-14 in lessons for $74 per day.
  • A Big Sky RFID Card is required for all Big Sky Sports Guests
  • Please add 4% tax

Mad Wolf (Ages 4 - 6) | Emp 50

Full Day Lesson / Mad Wolf is a popular program intended for children ages 4 - 6 skiing at levels 1 - 9. Whether your child needs to learn the basics or polish existing skills, the goal of Mad Wolf is to inspire a lifelong passion for the mountain experience. Sessions are 6 weeks long. |

Wolverines (Ages 7 - 14) | Emp 50

Full-Day Lesson / Wolverines is a program for skiers ages 7 - 14 and serves all skiers with ability levels 1 - 9. We focus on developing solid techniques while exploring a variety of terrain and conditions. Does your child have an eye on our Rippers Program? Upper-level Wolverines groups work to develop a solid skills foundation on lower mountain advanced and expert terrain. Sessions are 6 weeks long. |

Rippers (Ages 10 - 17) | Emp 50

Full-Day Lesson / Mountain Village Only / Big Sky Rippers is the pinnacle of our Youth Multi-Week Program progression designed for expert skiers and riders who have an avid interest in progressing their skills further while embracing a teamwork mentality. Big Sky's most skilled instructors reinforce fundamental techniques and help students apply these skills to big mountain terrain with an emphasis on safety and decision-making. Skiing at Level 9 is mandatory for this program. Tram access will be included for days of Rippers. |

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Please note that your Ripper is expected to ski/ride at Level 9 on the first day of lessons in order to facilitate the objectives of the program. This translates as your child comfortably skiing Marx or Cold Spring before entering the Rippers program. The Rippers curriculum focuses on expert ski tasks, avalanche awareness, beacon skills, teamwork, and independent decision-making. Avalanche gear will be required for all Rippers. This includes a working beacon, pack, shovel, and probe that Rippers will be expected to bring with them every weekend.

Enchanted Forest Employee

Awaken your senses to the magic of the forest. Over 10,000 lights illuminate your way in the Enchanted Forest. This family-friendly activity features immersive light displays along a kilometer-long path. Warm up at the end of your walk around the outdoor fireplace. You'll also be cozy on the ride up Ramcharger 8, with heated seats and weatherproof bubbles. Almost twice as big as last year, we invite you to join us in this magical experience, cozy up around the fire, and see winter nights in a new light. |

Important Information

  • This experience is on your own. There will be resort team members to provide assistance along the way.
  • 1 Kilometer roundtrip
  • RFID Card is required for all participants
  • All guests need a ticket, children 2 & under are complimentary
  • Participants must be appropriately dressed for the weather and wear fully enclosed shoes. Snowboots or hiking boots are highly recommended.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations 48 hours or more prior to a scheduled trip time will receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations within 48 hours may be refunded 50% of the deposit.
