Scenic Lift Information

Scenic lift tickets allow you to ride our summer chairlifts—Ramcharger 8, Swift Current 6, and Explorer—as many times as you wish throughout the day. Lifts are scheduled to operate 10am to 5pm daily with the last ride up at 4:30pm.

Ramcharger 8 and Swift Current 6 provide beautiful scenic views of the mountains. Ride up and take some time to explore the mountain from a higher elevation. When you're ready, take the lift down, or if you're feeling adventurous, one of the hiking trails down to the Village. Please note that Explorer cannot be ridden downhill, and the only way down is via the Huckleberry trail.

Scenic Lift Ticket Pickup

If you've loaded your ticket onto an existing Sky Card, you can head straight to the lifts.

If you purchased a new Sky Card with your lift ticket, you can scan the QR code in your confirmation email to print out your RFID card at any of our Sky Card Express Boxes.

Cancellation Policy

All summer season dates are tentative and subject to change based on weather, maintenance, repairs, and other conditions. No refunds will be issued for closures or stoppages. Unused tickets may be eligible for credit towards another day if inclement weather prevented their use.

Scenic Lift Details

Big Sky's scenic lift ride provides our summer visitors with a bird's eye view of the surrounding mountains. There are many trails on the mountain and around the area to enjoy. Passes or tickets are required for scenic chairlift access.

Please note that while Ramcharger 8 and Swift Current 6 can be ridden up and down, Explorer can only be ridden uphill. From Explorer, we recommend taking the mile-long Huckleberry trail down the mountain.

TRAM ACCESS

Tram access will be available from 9:30AM until 4PM on Saturday September 14th and 8:15 until 4 pm on Sunday September 15th. Tram access is not available any day prior to 9/14/24. Tram access will be valid for the date of ticket only for one ride up and one ride down. The Tram access is non-refundable and non- transferrable, even if the Tram is not used on the access date.
